http://www.usta.com/news/fullstory.sps?iType=921&inewsid=507759 Russian Davis Cup captain Shamil Tarpishchev announced the players that will make the long journey to Portland, Oregon to compete in the 2007 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Final against the United States, naming world fourth-ranked Nikolay Davydenko, Mikhail Youzhny, Igor Andreev and Dmitry Tursunov to the roster. Tarpishchev did not name past US Open winner Marat Safin at this time but did not discount the possibility of the former world No. 1 playing should another player suffer an injury. Team captains have the option to substitue a player up to an hour before match time. Safin played in Russia’s first round win over Chile and quarterfinal win over France. He has played in just two tournaments since the US Open. The official draw ceremony for the 2007 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Final will be held on Thursday, November 29 at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland. U.S. Davis Cup Captain Patrick McEnroe is expected to announce the same four-man lineup of Andy Roddick, James Blake and Bob and Mike Bryan, that have led the team to its first home final since 1995. The three-day series will be held at the sold-out Memorial Coliseum in Portland.
