就是在美國雙雙大放異彩的小將組合 Melanie Oudin & John Isner XD US Teen Sensation for Hopman 26/09/2009 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PERTH. 18 year old teen sensation Melanie Oudin will join with big serving John Isner in a new look Team USA for the Hyundai Hopman Cup. Oudin thrilled the US Open crowds in New York with a fairytale run to the quarter finals while Isner provided the biggest upset on the men’s side with a gripping 5 set win over compatriot Andy Roddick. Melanie Oudin started the year ranked 177, 9 months later she has represented the USA in Fed Cup, reached the fourth round at Wimbledon and captured the hearts of America at the recent US Open. With three fighting victories against world number 4 Elena Dementieva, former world number 1 Maria Sharapova and world number 14 Nadia Petrova on the centre court at Arthur Ashe stadium, Oudin reached her first quarter final in a Grand Slam culminating in a ranking of 43 and rising! John Isner on the other hand has taken a longer road to his current ranking of 41 - via a four year stint at the University of Georgia, where he roomed with Perth local and Hopman practice partner – Strahinja Bobusic. 2009 has seen a spectacular run for Isner from qualifying to the quarter finals in Auckland, semi finals in Washington and Indianapolis, quarter finals in LA, a win in Tallahassee, round of 16 in Miami culminating in the fourth round at the US Open. Isner trains at Hopman’s Tennis Academy at Saddlebrook Resort in Florida.
