Thus, Amanda is the youngest player in the WTA final since Donna Vekic in 2012 and 2013 and she is also the first player born in 2001 who will enter the Top 100, passing Olga Danilovic who delivered the first WTA crown for 2001 generation after beating her coeval Anastasia Potapova. Amanda had to qualify for the main draw but that wasn't an obstacle for her, delivering her finest tennis to move a step away from the first WTA title, the first out of many she is going to win in her career. Things are not getting any easier for the youngster, facing world number 40 Su-Wei Hsieh in one of the most important matches of her career so far. Anisimova claimed three wins in two days just to enter the main draw and she claimed commanding wins over Jana Fett, Saisai Zheng and Anna Karolina Schimedlova to reach the semis, preserving the energy after spending just over three hours on the court in the opening three main draw matches. This is only the eighth tournament of the season for Anisimova which puts more light on her accomplishment, reaching the fourth round at Indian Wells before suffering a foot fracture in the opening round of Miami that had kept her off the court for four months. Amanda played in the third round of Cincinnati and she bounced back after the opening round loss at the US Open to reach the title match here in Hiroshima and secure her place in the Top 100 for the first time, writing history for her generation.
