BESIKTAS JK 0 - 2 VALENCIA CF
Valencia CF had less troubles than expected to reach the eighth of finals of
the UEFA Cup, after beating the leader of the Turkish league, Besiktas JK,
in the Inonu stadium, in a match in which the che team imposed its better
shape in spite of playing with some of its less habitual footballers. Rafa
Benitez surprised with his starting lineup, totally revolutionary, with a
clear vocation for counterattack, with Sanchez and Xisco as offensive couple.
The goals of Valencia CF were scored by Miguel Angel Angulo, in the first
half, and by Juan Sanchez in the second. The team of Rafa Benitez will be
head of series in the drawing that will take place tomorrow, Thursday, at
two o'clock in the afternoon (Spanish time) at the UEFA headquarters.
