Valencia hero Fernando linked with sports director job

Former Valencia star Fernando Gomez Colomer has been linked with Eduardo
Macia's job as sports director.
Valencia president Juan Soler admitted yesterday to having spoken with
Fernando about "a range of issues" but stopped short of confirming that the
sports director's post had been mentioned.
"I was with Fernando Gomez the other day and we spoke about a series of
things, but I have also spoken with six or seven other people," said Soler.
"It is always good to gather many opinions. One of the projects was to
recover the heroes of the Valencianismo and Fernando is everything this club
stands for. So of course, it is important to know what his situation is.
"We engaged in a discussion on his current roles and what he wants to do
in the future."
Along with Macia's role, its been suggested Fernando could take on a
general manager's post similar to what Arrigo Sacchi is fulfilling at Real
Madrid. The ex-Valencia star would have responsibility for all football
operations - including the hiring and firing of the head coach.
