DAVID NAVARRO GOES THROUGH A DIFFICULT TIME
The central defender might already come to Deportivo during the winter market,
as his relations with Valencia coach Quique Sanchez Flores have reached a new
low. The 24 year old was considered a bright promise last year, when he renewed
his contract for another six seasons. But the new Valencian technician didn't
agree and hasn't used him at all this season.
A controversial situation forced him to the sidelines during the Intertoto Cup,
after doctors prescribed him a medicine that could have tested positive at
doping checks. With the start of the season compromised, Navarro never managed
to regain the trust of Quique Flores and finally stated that he wants to leave
the club as soon as possible. The response of the technician was that he only
uses players "who are loyal to the team, which is not the case of David
Navarro".
Under these circumstances, it is very likely that Deportivo will be his new
destination. His price tag, while still unknown, seems to be low enough for
Lendoiro and contacts have been made in order to start the transfer process.
It is expected that both Cesar and Pablo Amo will leave the club during the
winter market, a fact that would leave Caparros in need of one more central
defender.
