AIK Solna, First Rival for Valencia CF in the UEFA Cup
The swedish team AIK Solna will be the rival of Valencia CF in the first
round of the UEFA Cup, after the draw made by the highest organism of the
european football at the Grimaldi Center in Monaco. Valencia, that was the
seccond head of series after FC Barcelona, started the draw in the first
group.AIK Solna is a historical Swedish team, founded in 1896, has been
proclaimed champion of the Swedish league in 10 occasions, and 7 times
champion of the Swedish Cup. The swedish club has participated 2 times in
the European Cup, 5 times in the old Cup Winners' Cup and 7 times in the UEFA
Cup.As a head of series, Valencia CF will play the first leg match in Sweden,
on September 24th, at the Rasunda Stadium in Solna. The second match will be
played at Mestalla on October 15th.
