Valencia CF defeated Maccabi Haifa with authority in the second leg match
of the UEFA Cup second round, played at the Eneco Stadion in the Dutch city
of Rotterdam, and completed with success its access to the 1/16 of finals of
the competition. The israelian team was not the hard rival that remained
unbeaten in Mestalla, and the players of Benitez dominated the match from the
very first minute.Mista advanced Valencia CF in the 10th minute first half,
and a little bit later Ruben Baraja signed the second goal and the final
sentence. In the last minutes of the game, David Albelda and Miguel Angel
Angulo scored the third and the fourth, respectively.
Valencia CF to Face Besiktas JK in the UEFA Cup
Valencia CF will face Besiktas JK from Turkey in the third round of the
UEFA Cup, after the drawing carried out this morning in Nyon. The first leg
match will be played at Mestalla on February 26th, 2004, while the 2nd leg
will take place at the Inonu stadium on March 3rd.
