USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports that the Phillies have been scouting
Carlos Quentin.
It's obvious at this point that the Phils are going to acquire a right-handed
hitting outfielder before the deadline, it's just a matter of who it winds up
being. In addition to Quentin, they've been linked to Carlos Beltran, Hunter
Pence, Melky Cabrera and B.J. Upton, among others. Quentin is making $5.05
million this season and will enter his final year of arbitration over the
winter
