Tennis star Serena Williams came to "Celebrity Justice" to set the record straight about a racially charged interview she supposedly did while in Atlanta this week. She claims the interview, which, since its appearance, has been E-mailed around the world, is a fake. "I would never ever say anything negative about my race or any other race," Williams said to us. "I wish the person who allegedly conducted the interview and wrote this would come forward, because that's not freedom of press, that's lies, and that's not fair." Serena, winner of 25 tennis singles titles is currently dating Hollywood director Brett Ratner, of "Rush Hour" fame. In the fake interview, she's falsely quoted as saying, "If you are a successful black female, you have two choices: date outside of your race or date other successful black females." The inflammatory interview even goes after talk show queen Oprah Winfrey, with Serena supposedly saying, "if Oprah would date outside of her race, she would be married with children now." "They threw Oprah Winfrey's name in there, who I admire. She's completely on a pedestal with me," Williams told us. "As a matter of fact, I’ve been on her show maybe once or twice, and then one time I was in Italy and I met her in the lobby of a hotel and I could barely talk, I was so nervous. She's my role model and I want to be just like her." As for the interview, Williams admitted it has taken a toll on her, saying, "It has just been really, really stressful and upsetting that someone would fabricate from the beginning an interview that never happened." Williams told us she’s considering her legal options. "Sometimes you have to take action so that it doesn't happen to anyone else." "I have a lawyer, and he's really upset about it. I've known him for, like, twelve years. He's like my second dad, and he's not very happy about it," Williams continued, laughing as she added, "And he's a black man. Go figure." While Williams plans to have her lawyer, "find out who is behind this and have them prosecuted within the fullest extent of the law," she’s now focusing on acting. She’ll be guest starring on an upcoming episode of the UPN sitcom " All of Us." "I’ve been trying to get on this show, and finally, I made it," she informed us. "And I read the script and I was like, ‘I've got to make this!’ It was such a funny script." And Serena vows to all do she can to clear up this latest controversy, so she can have the last laugh. -- -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.63.101.148
