SERENA WILLIAMS, winner of seven Grand Slam tournaments and an Olympic gold
medal, puts as much muscle into choosing her outfits as she does into her
serve. Both on and off the court, this 24-year-old, who helps design tennis
clothes for Nike, gravitates toward form-fitting clothes and flashy accents.
"I wear way too many tank tops," she said. "I own 50, from designers like
James Perse and Abercrombie & Fitch, and I layer two or three colors at a
time. I also love the ease of jersey."
Here she wears a silk jersey dress by Costello Tagliapietra with an Yves
Saint Laurent belt and Rene' Caovilla shoes. Her pendant is from the Exotic
Jewels collection she recently created for Flirt! Cosmetics; it flips open to
reveal a lip gloss. The Flirt! project tapped right into her love of
accessories. "I've always been into jewelry, bags, shoes and belts," she
said. "My sister Venus is way more into clothes. We always say that if you
