I’M BACK!!! Well it has definitely been a busy couple of days! I was so glad to finally get back on the court and play some matches! On Wednesday I beat Samantha Stosur 6-4 6-1. I’M BACK!!! I thought I played pretty well for my first match since I took some time off. The beginning of the match was pretty tight, but at the end of the 2nd set I pulled away and coasted from there on. I love playing in Rome because the fans here are great and love tennis, and I have friends that live here that come support me for all my matches! After the match I did my usual: cool down, stretching, eating (not my favorite thing but I force myself to do it!), and playing with Harold. He has been a naughty boy lately! He had been behaving so well until I told him that I wanted him to get wild and crazy again because he was too calm. Well I guess he heard me! He started to act crazy again and want to run everywhere and have all the attention. After I got back from the courts I just relaxed and had some dinner in my room with Mia and Jess. Then we all went to bed for another busy day! Today I finally got to sleep in since I didn’t play until 8:30pm. I slept until 11:30; definitely the latest in a long time! I just relaxed in the room all day since I knew my match would be a tough one against Vera Zvonareva. I just beat her a couple months ago in India, but it was a tight match and she has been playing well since then! We also got word that another played on the WTA might want to wear EleVen to play so I am keeping my fingers crossed for it to happen! Since I got to sleep in today and I was playing at night I only had to eat 3 meals today instead of the 5 that I had ate yesterday!!! Well I had a really good warm-up with Dave before the match and I went into it really confident. I started off really strong and went up 3-0, and then she came back and went up 4-3. I picked up my game again and broke her to go up 6-5, and then won a tough game to take the set 7-5. The second set I played really well throughout and just lost my serve once, and eventually won it 6-2. I was pretty tired after the match because it was a tough battle, but I will definitely be ready to take on Jankovic tomorrow! Last time we played was at the US Open last year when I beat her in a really close 3 set match, so I need to keep that mentality going in! I know I can and will win! Now it is time for dinner and bed since it is late again! More from me soon!
