T hroughout history, there is no doubt that celebrities, idols, or heroes people admired all have outstanding qualities. In different horizons, the famous definitely have special qualities to earn their reputation. If you are a person related to tennis, you are unlikely to have no idea of Serena Williams, who has long been a dominant woman player in tournaments and promised to become the best player in woman tennis history. As a leading player who I appreciate most, what outstanding qualities does she own? And what great efforts did she make to achieve her remarkable success? Born in a slum area, Serena and her elder sister, Venus, were both trained by their father, Williams, in tough ways. There are many statements from various opinions. One said that because she has black blood relationship, she has better explosive force and speed herself, which let her have inborn physical advantages. Another thought that she has not only physical advantages but all-round skills. Her big serve, powerful strokes, fast speed and good experience are all factors of her victories. In my personal viewpoints, what is the most outstanding quality of her is her tough mentality. Her astonishing ability to survive in difficult matches always impresses audiences and fans. Besides, she never gave up and was good at making the best of a bad situation to reverse the game. She was regarded as the real champion, for she always played aggressive games and was able to stay calm even if she fell behind. The match in 2005 Australian Open semifinal was the most impressive one I like. Serena lost first set against Maria Sharapova and faced three match points in the third set. However, she saved them one by one and finally won this match, and subsequently she won her 7th grand slam in the final. In addition to her fascinating qualities on the court, there are more respectable qualities when she is out of the field. As a person who also experienced the poverty, Serena had done her best to help the poor. For example, she donated money and also raised money for poor children. She never refused to attend exhibition matches even if she had injury. Moreover, she devoted herself to charity events and adopted children from Africa.
