里皮說我可以跟你保證球隊已經準備好表現了 Marcello Lippi today hailed Fabio Capello as 'a winner' and said England were one of the 'great threats' in the World Cup 2010. Lippi, 62, who is hoping to become only the second manager in history to win the World Cup twice after leading Italy to glory in Germany 2006, praised his fellow countryman. He said: "England are one of the great threats. It is not because Capello is Italian that is important. It is because he is a winner. "He's a coach who has always built very pragmatic teams that are very determined." But Lippi reiterated his assertion that Brazil and Spain were favourites, and said England were one of 'four or five teams' including Holland, Argentina, Germany in addition to Italy, who are capable of going all the way. "Everyone has made Brazil or Spain favourites and I would not disagree," Lippi added. "Personally I feel Argentina, Holland, Germany, Italy, France and England - can all win - they come to the World Cup not just to participate but to win." Lippi was speaking after Italy held a training session in Cape Town's Green Point stadium, venue for their first group match against Paraguay tomorrow night. "There is no doubt, I can assure you, that the team is ready to play a great match. "I am very happy with my players; they are almost all ready apart from [Andrea] Pirlo. He is improving his condition. He came here with great enthusiasm and If he is ready for the third match I would be happy." Lippi, who has already announced he will step down as Italy manager for the second time after the World Cup, denied reports that he had received offers to manage Spartak Moscow, or the United Arab Emirates. "We are here to talk about the World Cup. I have not received a call from Spartak Moscow or the UAE," Lippi announced. The Azzuri boss said he was unconcerned by Italy's poor record in their warm up matches, drawing with Switzerland and losing to Mexico. "One thing I have learned is that everything that comes before the World Cup comes to nothing. You could win ten games in a row, but it doesn't matter." He added: "A great team grows as the tournament goes on. Its confidence is fed by the performances. "Those who play against Italy are always a bit fearful and respectful.
