I am not : a pitcher, but the key is to throw strikes no matter how fast or slow : you throw. Biggest tip: Have fun and enjoy playing and practicing. You anticipate what pitch : is coming, but need to react. First you need to practice hitting : curves during batting practice -- some batting cages or machines have : them -- so you recognize the rotation and movement of the pitch. I can practice my defense at home by bouncing a tennis ball : off of my chimney in my lawn but cannot practice my hitting skills : with a real ball and live pitching. The next batting cage is too far : away to practice regularly. Is there a way that you found helpful to : help you with your hitting? : -- John S., Lee, Mass. I use a tee every single : day, and will hit off a tee for weeks before I even see live pitching. : Focus on your mechanics and making solid contact off the bat. Look at : this video clip. I did "Pitch Hit and Run" in 2003 with Jennie Finch : and it demonstrates what I mean.
