在NYY板看到有些人的推文後，決定回覆一篇較推文字數長的文章來說明我的想法（以下英文原文皆來自我手邊的資料，手打英文，如果錯字請包涵，而這些資料的記錄時為2004 ，非今年2007）。 Boys and Girls Club 這個組織對A-Rod影響很大，他從小就受到這裡的幫助，所以在他有能力回饋社會後，球季結束都會回到這裡幫助裡面的小朋友關於打棒球的技巧及經驗分享，而這些行為竟被說成刻意甚至虛情假意？你要討厭一個人沒關係，但請在確實瞭解後再來討厭也不遲。 Boys and Girls Club裡有個叫 Eddie Rodriguez 的人是Alex的良師益友（A-Rod官網有幾則影片介紹），Alex八歲認識他直到現在。 Eddie Rodriguez, a former minor league player, who is the director of the Hank Kline Boys and Girls Club in Miami, was one of the men who helped Alex, both as a coach and as someone he could talk to. After all this time, Alex still goes to the club's field in the off-season to take batting practice and field grounders, and he still considers Rodriguez to be the biggest influence on his life. "Off the field, it's Eddie Rodriguez," said Alex, who has donated nearly two millin dollars to the facility. "I've been with him at the Boys and Girls Club since I was 8 years old. Now, I'm 29, and 21 years later, he's still hitting me ground balls. He's been a good mentor and friends." 另外A-Rod小時候是真的很愛打棒球的，對這件事十分專注，來看看他媽媽是怎麼說的就知道了XD "He was very focused from the time he was a young child, and he just wasn't interested in anything else, except baseball,"said Lourdes."He didn't care if it was sunny or rainning, he just had to play ball, and would cry if I didn't take him to the park every day." 另外還有一小段是描寫Alex在小時候看著別人在打棒球時渴望加入的心情以及與鄰居是如何靠打球從陌生到相識，覺得很可愛，也打出來與大家分享囉！ Juan Arteaga, the father of Alex's boyhood best friend, A.J. Arteaga, was another adult who took an interest in Alex. Juan Arteaga helped him to develop his skills as a young player, and treated him like a second son. "Mr. Arteaga and Eddie Rodriguez guided me and gave me their most precious gift-time," recalled Alex."I made sure that I didn't do anything stupid to let them down." Alex and A.J. had met one day while Alex was watching A.J.practice baseball in a neighborhood park. Juan Arteaga, who was coaching the team, spotted Alex, watching the boys play, like a hungry kid with his nose pressed against a bakery windows, and asked him if he wanted to join in. Even though Alex was younger than most of the other players, he was able to step in and play up to their level. Soon, he and A.J., who lived two blocks away from Alex, had become best friends, and Juan Arteaga had taken Alex under his wing. When he took A.J. to a ball game, he would also invite Alex, and sometimes he would buy Alex the equipment he needed to play. Although Arteaga had seen lots of good baseball players, including his son, he told A.J. that Alex was the best player he'dever seen. "Alex was only 11, and I thought my dad was crazy.
