1.I don't know about flying, but sometimes it feels like I have these
little wings on my feet.
2.As athletes, we're used to reacting quickly. Here, it's 'come, stop,
come, stop.' There's a lot of downtime. That's the toughest part of
the day.
3.I've failed over and over and over again in my life and that is why
I succeed.
4.It doesn't matter if you win as long as you give everything in your
heart.
5.Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game.
6.I never looked at the consequences of missing a big shot... when you
think about the consequences you always think of a negative result.
7.I built my talents on the shoulders of someone else's talent. Without
Julius Erving, David Thompson, Walter Davis and Elgin Baylor, there
never would have been a Michael Jordan. I evolved from them.
8.Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.
9.Let's bury these guys and make them think about it.
10.I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games.
26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed.
I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I
succeed.
11.I know what I'm capable of doing. I know what's going to be expected of
me. I know everybody's putting my head on the block. Everybody's motivated
to come out and play against me. Well, everybody was motivated to play
against me when I left, so things haven't changed.
12.My attitude is that if you push me towards something that you think is
a weakness, then I will turn that perceived weakness into a strength.
13.My body could stand the crutches but my mind couldn't stand the sideline.
14.I've always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come.
I don't do things half-heartedly. Because I know if I do, then I can
expect half-hearted results.
15.I play to win, whether during practice or a real game. And I will not
let anything get in the way of me and my competitive enthusiasm to win.
16.When I step onto the court, l'm ready to play. If you're going up against
me, you'd better be ready. If you're not going to compete, l will dominate
you.
17.My heroes are and were my parents. I can't see having anyone else as my
heroes.
18.Good things happen. They happen for a reason. Bad things happen. I try
to find the positive and move forward.
19.I took cooking classes when I was younger; girls weren't interested in
me, and I thought I may be alone for the rest of my life.
20.The game is my life. It demands loyalty and responsibility, and it gives
me back fulfillment and peace.
21.If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them;
everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run
into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it,
go through it, or work around it.
22.To be successful you have to be selfish, or else you never achieve. And
once you get to your highest level, then you have to be unselfish. Stay
reachable. Stay in touch. Don't isolate.
23.I thought of saying just two words, 'I'm gone.' But I figured I owed the
fans and the media a little more than that, so that's my reason for being
here.
24.There is only one person who can define success in your life-and that's
you.
25.I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying.
26.Life is often compared to a marathon, but I think it is more like being
a sprinter; long stretches of hard work punctuated by brief moments in
which we are given the opportunity to perform at our best.
27.You have to expect things of yourself before you can do them.
28.I don't have a problem with getting older. I'm getting wiser.
29.I thought I would go (into the NBA) and be a flop. Everyone was expecting
so much (of me.)"
30.I think the game itself is a lot bigger than Michael Jordan. I've been
given an opportunity by the people before me: Kareem Abdul-Jabar, Dr. J,
these guys came way before Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan came on the
heels of all that activity.
31.Heart is what separates the good from the great.
32.Even when I'm old and grey, I won't be able to play it, but I'll still
love the game.

failure always made me try harder next time.”

you never will change the outcome.
35.Demand excellence! From yourself! From others!
