EuroSport的報導: Moya takes Barcelona title Spain's Carlos Moya took home the Barcelona Open title in front of his homecrowd after beating Russia's Marat Safin 5-7 6-2 6-2 3-0 on Sunday. The towering Russian had no more energy to continue and withdrew without even putting up a fight. This is Moya's second title of the year after the Mallorcan won in Buenos Aires back in February. "I want to congratulate Safin, you have had better times and I'm sure you will overcome your injuries and be back at your best" Moya said. A very tight first set where each player defended their serve superbly without allowing a single break until the last game where Safin got the upper hand taking the lead and the set in 46 minutes of play. In the second set Moya got off to a strong start breaking Safin a couple of times to romp to a 5-1 lead. Moya pounded Safin who began to lose his nerve and his concentration. The Mallorca native continued his charge to level the match to one set all after 40 minutes of play. The third set was a deja vu situation as Moya quickly raced to a 2-0 lead breaking Safin in the opening game. The Russian's patience was running out as he began to discuss line calls and throw his racket to the ground. Moya continued to pound the former US Open champion who began to show signs of fatigue. The Monte Carlo finalist broke once again to grasp a 5-1 lead before serving it out in 26 minutes. Safin left the court during the break only to comeback and play three games of the fourth set before retiring giving Moya an easy third set for the title. "I want to congratulate Carlos, he has done a great match and has had two spectacular weeks" Safin said. " I'm sorry I couldn't finish the match, it was just too much and Moya was playing very good and he was too strong for me", he added. -- Moya真有風度,恭喜啦! -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.csie.ntu.edu.tw) ◆ From: 61.225.198.154
