Safin to skip World Team Cup
Marat Safin has withdrawn from the World Team Cup which starts next week in
Dusseldorf.
The Russian, who has already missed Masters Series events in Rome and Hamburg
this year, is struggling to shake off a wrist injury sustained during a
first-round match in January's Australian Open.
Doctors in Moscow say the healing process is taking longer then expected.
The former US Open champion will be able to start practising in a week's time.
Safin's withdrawal means Russia captain Shamil Tarpischev will need to find a
replacement.
If he fails to do so, Russia are likely to miss the clay tournament, where
they have been finalists for the last three years.
Argentina, the reigning champions, Chile, Spain, Sweden, the Czech Republic,
Germany and Australia will compete at the ￡1.5m tournament, which was
inaugurated in 1978.

倒是隊長要傷腦筋了，去年打進決賽，
今年俄羅斯隊的狀態卻拉不起來…(是說也還好啦！)
