[新聞] Esposito Wants To Stay If Possible

Roma benchwarmer Mauro Esposito has said he would like to stay at the club,
but admits he will have to consider his future if his lack of playing time
continues.
Esposito had been one of Serie A’s best wingers during his spell at
Cagliari, and this helped him win six caps for Italy, as well as a transfer
to Roma last summer.
However things have not gone according to plan in the Eternal City, and he
has made just eight Serie A appearances, none of them starts.
This has led to strong reports that he will be offloaded in the summer,
possibly back to Cagliari, who still own half of his contract. Esposito’s
hometown club Napoli have also been linked.
“I still haven’t spoken to the club and this isn’t the time because we are
playing for important objectives and the priority is to finish the season
well,” he stated.
“I expected to play more, but nobody is guaranteed a place. I am happy to be
a part of such a big team and I would like to stay here.
“But if I were to continue playing so little then I would have to talk to
the club about it.”
Esposito was handed a rare starting place yesterday evening during the 1-0
Coppa Italia semi final first leg win over Catania in Rome.
