Roma's New Stadium To Cost €300m & Will Be Ready By 2014 - Report
Details of the Giallorossi's new stadium have been leaked...
Roma are set to unveil plans for their new stadium in a press conference
tomorrow, but some details have apparently been acquired by
Romagiallorossa.com.
The site reports that the stadium, as expected, will take the name of former
president Franco Sensi, who died last August.
The stadium itself will house 60,000 fans and will reportedly be situated in
Aurelia, an area to the northwest of Rome. Construction of the ground is not
thought to begin until early next year, but should take four years to
complete at a cost of €300 million.
Details will be made official at tomorrow's press conference, at which Roma
president Rosella Sensi and mayor of Rome Gianni Alemanno will be among those
present.
However, the plans for the Giallorossi's new stadium, in particular the use
of public funding, have not been met with widespread approval.
Respected television presenter Giulio Galasso has blasted the plans,
announcing on Teleroma56 that "it's a shame that in a city where it takes six
months to get an ultrasound, we think of spending money to build a stadium."
