森上第一輪苦戰擊敗會外賽選手，第二輪直落二敗給Stosur，結束她長達11年的職業生涯。她說去年手術後膝蓋的傷還是一直沒能完全康復，使她感覺無法再達到巔峰因此萌生退意。她11月會參加全日本賽作為網球生涯的終結，她也說希望能拿個冠軍。話說回來日本頂尖選手好像只差她沒拿過這項賽事冠軍，伊達公子、森田、杉山愛、中村藍子還有淺越忍等不同時期的日本名將都曾奪冠了。祝福她！ Morigami to retire at season's end Kyodo News Japan's Akiko Morigami said on Monday she will retire from competitive tennis at the end of the season as she is no longer able to perform at a high level. "I have fluid that has built up in my knee and I am no longer able to train the way I want to. If I can't return to the stage of playing that I once had I really don't see any reason to continue," said Morigami. The 29-year-old will play in her last tournament at the national championships in November after competing at the ongoing Japan Women's Open in Osaka. Morigami, who turned pro in 1998, underwent surgery on her left knee last year and has been struggling to return to form ever since. She won her first and only singles title on the WTA Tour at the ECM Prague Open in May 2007.
