伊達公子以40歲5個月的高齡在邁阿密取得單打正賽勝利，破了Virginia Wade在1985年以39歲高齡取得單打勝利的紀錄。 Meanwhile, Japan's Kimiko Date-Krumm, aged 40 years and five months, became the oldest woman to win a match at the tournament with a 6-4 6-3 dismissal of Zuzana Ondraskova. Date-Krumm lost her serve five times but still managed to get past her Czech opponent, breaking the record set by then 39-year-old Virginia Wade in 1985. The tragedy in Japan was also on the mind of Japanese player Kimiko Date-Krumm, who defeated Zuzana Ondraskova 6-4, 6-3, on Wednesday. Date-Krumm’s news conference was more about her country than her tennis. Krumm, the oldest player in the women’s draw at 40 years and five months, said of the disaster, “Still, I am shocked. “I started a foundation, and I donated my own money. I hope I can help.
