Whiteman mastered Double-A last year before fading in a late-season stint in
Triple-A. He has the offensive and defensive talent to be a major league
regular, but he’s had trouble putting it all together, leaving the Astros a l
ittle frustrated. Unless Adam Everett takes a step back next year, the Astros
will be thinking of Whiteman as a utilityman when he’s out of options in 2006.
He’s due for a full year in Triple-A in 2005.
