Over the Arizona Diamondbacks' recent three-game series win over the Texas Range

cent report, his teammates may be harboring some frustration toward the All-Star
.
A recent article by The Arizona Republic's Nick Piecoro suggests that, despite M
arte's back-to-back game-winning homers, the team views him in a somewhat frustr
ated light.

ake days off at times.
"In recent years, some Diamondbacks players have taken to adding a phrase to com
ments they make when asked about Marte. He is a great player, they say, when he
wants to be. They are giving credit while also airing a grievance," Piecoro wrot
e.

Piecoro wrote that Marte's request for time off following "high-dollar" burglary
of his home particularly frustrated members of the team and organization, belie
ving his absence led to Arizona's slide out of contention and eventual Trade Dea
dline fire sale.
Marte returned home to the Dominican Republic at that time, missing three games.
It was somewhat ironic that the D-backs won all three games Marte missed. But s
ubsequently they lost eight of nine games leading up to the Deadline thereafter,
losing three straight series after sweeping the Cardinals.

According to Piecoro, that frustration is not necessarily brand-new.

Teammates were reportedly unsettled by Marte asking for a day off in the last we
ek of 2024, as Arizona was fighting for a playoff spot (missing out by half a ga
me). At the time, Torey Lovullo said it was too dangerous to let him play, but t
hen said that one day off was enough for him to heal.
Teammates also didn't love Marte's request for a day off leading up to 2025's Al
l-Star Break, when he was later able to run hard on a double in the Midsummer Cl
assic.
So just how prevalent is that frustration in the D-backs' clubhouse? That remain
s unknown at this time.
Marte is not only an exceptional player, he's an important part of the Diamondba
cks — a franchise legend in the making. His ninth-inning heroics will live on i
n team history.

It's hard to imagine these grievances are at any sort of breaking point. It's ev
en harder to imagine a trade sending Marte out of Arizona.
The Diamondbacks would do much better to keep Marte healthy with occasional off
days than to see him injure himself and miss significant time again.

現在公眾對Marte的支持可說是無條件的，不管事實如何，大家就是愛他，但事實是這樣的
：他沒有打明星賽前的最後一場比賽，而原本他應該與 Suarez 和 Carroll 一起從亞特蘭
大搭乘球隊安排的飛機返回亞利桑那，但他選擇了前往多明尼加度假，明知自己將會錯過對
紅雀的其中一兩場比賽，而球團和他的隊友據說當時對此毫不知情
根據我得到的消息，Marte 是到了多明尼加之後才知道自己家中遭竊
Marte 就是這樣的人——一位真正特別的球員，但同時也有點以自我為中心，那麼問題來了
：他的天賦，是否足以讓人忽略這些其他問題？這是球團必須要思考的
