Buddy posted a career slash line of .279/.341/.406 with 201 homers. Following his playing career, Buddy managed the Tigers (1996-98), Rockies (2000-02) and Royals (2005-07). Both were drafted out of Moeller High School like their dad, though David had the longer Major League career. In that October’s ALCS against the eventual World Series champion A’s, he tossed a shutout with 14 strikeouts in Game 3. Joe P. 的兒子 Joe H. Cruz hit .248/.315/.499 with 26 home runs and 68 RBIs in 104 games. His best season might've been his lone season with the Giants, 2003, when he posted a career-high 3.1 bWAR and won a Gold Glove Award, his only piece of hardware. He finished his career in the city where his dad starred, playing his final season in 2008 with Houston. He debuted two days before Father's Day 2026, ranked as the Tigers' No. 22 prospect, starting in right field against the White Sox at Comerica Park.
