Jays cut troubled former No.1 draft pick Matt Bush
Problem child Matt Bush did not last long with the Toronto Blue Jays.
Bush had a troubled career with the San Diego Padres organization and was
released in February after allegedly assaulting several high school lacrosse
players in San Diego. The Padres designated the 23-year-old pitcher for
assignment a day later.
Toronto acquired the 23-year-old pitcher shortly thereafter, but on Wednesday
the Jays released him for “failing to comply with team guidelines that were
set out for him,” a club spokesman said, refusing to reveal details.
