Yost 在上個禮拜表示他對於外野陣容的想法是讓 Hall 及 Hart 擔任先發中外野及右外野手，左外野則由 Jenkins 及 Mench platoon(http://0rz.tw/412mM )。Jenkins 在前幾天說如果要讓他platoon，他寧願被交易到其他球隊(http://0rz.tw/702rb )。昨天 Mench 也同樣表示寧願被交易到其他球隊也不願意platoon，如果 Yost 讓他 platoon，他會"pitch a fit"(http://0rz.tw/a62sY )。 Jenkins 及 Mench 該適可而止了，到此停止的話球迷勉強還可以容忍。如果他們去年表現很好今年還被縮減上場時間的話球迷會支持他們，但是事實是他們去年表現不好而且生涯對同方向投手的打擊成績有明顯的落差，再加上 Hall 及 Hart 並不是鳥蛋，我實在搞不懂他們有什麼立場要求多一點的上場時間。另外他們以為 Melvin 不想把他們交易出去嗎？是因為在冬季會議時換不到有價值的球員他們才會都還留在隊上，而且就算被交易到別的球隊他們也不一定可以拿到先發位置。這一次 Yost 對於 Jenkins 及 Mench 的回應相當令人讚賞，來看一下 Yost 的回應： "They're going to have to accept it, but I don't want them to like it," Yost said. "What we're looking for are guys that want to be team players and that want to win a championship, to be on a winning team whatever it takes. If you don't want to be a part of the team because you've got other aspirations or other ideas of what you want to do, that's fine." And as he insisted after learning of Jenkins' comments earlier in the week, Yost predicted that his outfield logjam would not be a problem. But, he added, "I'll handle it. If you want to be a part of this thing, fine. If not, fine by me too. We're here to win ballgames.
