Pezzaiuoli to leave Hoffenheim

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim have announced that coach Marco Pezzaiuoli will not
continue beyond the end of the season having overseen only three wins in his
12 games at the helm so far.
TSG 1899 Hoffenheim coach Marco Pezzaiuoli will leave the club in the summer,
the Bundesliga outfit have announced.
Pezzaiuoli was appointed by Hoffenheim in January having previously been
assistant to Ralf Rangnick. However, the man that led Germany to the 2009
UEFA European Under-17 Championship has overseen only three wins in 12 games
since the winter break, only the 15th best Bundesliga record of 2011, leaving
Hoffenheim in the bottom half.
Hoffenheim general manager Ernst Tanner said: "The situation after the change
in coaches and the players we have lost in winter surely was not easy for
Marco Pezzaiuoli and the club. But given the developments in the past weeks,
we have decided to begin next season with a new head coach. It is also
certain now that there are no more excuses for the team and that they are now
responsible for going into the coming matches fully focused, looking for
success."
