Roughly 15 minutes before game time, Torre learned rookie third baseman Blake
DeWitt's balky lower back had stiffened to the point that he couldn't play.
Torre's first instinct was to insert shortstop Chin-lung Hu, who wasn't in
the lineup, at third. But third-base coach Larry Bowa suggested that Torre
move Martin to third base, giving him a day off from catching while keeping
his bat in the game, and insert Bennett behind the plate.
"It was a great suggestion, obviously," Torre said.
賽前DeWitt突然不能上場.....
本來Torre要讓Hu守三壘....
結果Bowa建議要讓Martin守三壘....= =
後來就變成今天這個樣子了....
