Zakopalova淘汰了地主選手Razzano，晉級第二輪
Safarova和Cibulkova也順利晉級。
兩個好朋友的首輪對決，由近況佳的Benesova取勝
"Iveta played a really good match," Vaidisova said. "It's always hard to play
your best friend. She started the tie-break well, and I just have to give her
credit. I looked to my box for support. I always do that and I did it today."
"The key point of the first set was the tie-break; I started well and it just
went from there," Benesova declared. "I knew I had to attack. I was going for
the big shots, and it was working. After a difficult first game in the second
set I played well again, and I don't think she was as focused in that set."
從訪問看來，是個皆大歡喜的結局XD
另外Zakopalova終於結束她的大滿貫首輪出局紀錄 (上次打進第二輪以上是05年法網)
"I have been waiting for this for a long time (GS victory), it's a big relief.
I was nervous at the beginning, I really wanted to break it. That I defeated a
seeded player makes it all the sweeter."
About coming from a set down: "I am working on my mental condition, so I am
glad it finally brings fruit. I have been visiting a psychologist for two
months already. I wasn't afraid to dictate the play in the third set and that
made the difference."
