Hi everyone! It was quite a long trip but I'm happy to be in Monterrey :)
After playing in Dubai I stayed there and practiced for a week. It was better
than going back to freezing Prague! You can't play outside there... I stopped
off in Prague just for one day last Thursday to re-pack my bag, then flew to
Monterrey on Friday... so basically I was on the plane for two days. I try to
sleep on flights but can never do it for more than two or three hours. So
this time I watched movies. I saw Eat Pray Love, and I tried to watch 127
Hours but couldn't finish it. It was too stressful! The poor guy... I felt
terrible watching it.
The Australian Open was amazing. I didn't have great preparation in the
winter because I was injured, my knee... so it was kind of a surprise too. My
best result at a Grand Slam - it was very exciting! I wanted to continue that
in the tournaments after but it didn't happen, so hopefully I'll get some
matches under my belt here in Monterrey, as well as in Indian Wells and Miami.
It's my third year here, and third year for the tournament too. It's a great
place and the people are great. We get everything we want and the
organization is perfect. I really like coming back here. Great memories... I
was in the semifinals the first year and last year Barbora and I won the
doubles. We had our first doubles match today too, and we were facing set
point in the second set but came back to win in straight sets. I'm happy we
didn't have to go to the super tie-break... you never know what's going to
happen in those!
Oh... I watched the Oscars last night. The bad thing was it was translated
into Spanish... I didn't understand much. But I watched it anyway. I like
seeing the dresses and the make-up on all the stars. I didn't really mind who
won because I didn't see most of those movies. I just like watching the
people!
I have a day off tomorrow, so I'll practice in the morning and do fitness in
the afternoon, then maybe watch a movie or read a magazine and hang around at
the hotel, saving energy... It's not that interesting but that's what we do :)
