The knock on the Knicks free agency effort this year is that they added
older players. But Mike Woodson told reporters on Wednesday in Las Vegas
that the experience they brought in (all in backup roles, it should be
pointed out) is essential to winning. And it's not a formula exclusive
to the Knicks. The Lakers and Heat have added older stars and the
Celtics did it a few seasons ago when they were building a championship
team. "I haven't seen a young team win an NBA title in the last 10, 15
years," Woodson said. He also added,
"It's veteran guys who win the NBA title."
