The Italian striker has endured a dismal time at Mestalla since joining from Empoli over the summer and has leapt at the chance to return to Serie A. "We have reached an agreement," los Che supremo Juan Soler stated. "The player will return to Valencia on December 28 and the join Roma on January 4." After moving to Spain for €10 million at the end of last season, Tavano was tipped to be a success in la Primera but injuries have hampered his chances. At the start of the season the Italian forward suffered a hamstring problem and did not make his debut until mid-November. Tavano went onto make five further appearances for the club, but failed to score and is now considered to be surplus to requirements. The one match that the 27-year-old did complete came in the Champions League against his new club Roma, which will mean that he is ineligible to appear for the Giallorossi.
