Navarro had already apologised on Wednesday, stating that he had lost his nerve and was very sorry and ashamed for what he had done. In the meantime, UEFA have opened an investigation into the events and have charged Burdisso, Ivan Cordoba and Douglas Maicon, who are facing gross unsporting conduct charges along with opponents Carlos Marchena and Navarro.
