http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jun12f.html Di Carlo nets Parma job Tuesday 12 June, 2007 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Domenico Di Carlo has been appointed as the new Coach of Parma following Claudio Ranieri's departure. “Parma announce that a deal has been finalised with boss Domenico Di Carlo, who will Coach the first team,” read a note posted on the club's website. “The one-year contract will be effective from July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008 – with an option to extend it for a further season. “The new tactician is young but already experienced and is an ideal guide for the Parma project. He will be officially unveiled on Thursday, June 14 at the Collecchio training complex.” Di Carlo, a former midfielder, replaces Ranieri after he joined Juventus just days after securing the Gialloblu's Serie A safety. The 43-year-old tactician started his coaching career with Mantova in 2004, after a short spell with Vicenza’s youth team. He led the Biancorossi to an immediate promotion to Serie B and the following year obtained a place in the play-offs, where they were defeated by Torino.
