http://www.channel4.com/sport/football_italia/jun16d.html Violence "down by 70 per cent" Saturday 16 June, 2007 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- The incidents of football-related violence plummeted by 70 per cent after the new Italian laws were introduced, says a Government report. Calcio shut down for a week after a police officer was killed in the riots outside Catania's Stadio Massimino in February and prompted a radical rehaul of the laws to prevent hooliganism. These certainly seem to have been effective, as in the months since that tragic incident, football-related violence has dropped by 70 per cent. The number of injuries among the police has gone down by an incredible 93 per cent, while for fans that figure is 44 per cent. Now only 37 stadiums in the entire country are not yet up to code, so supporters should no longer find matches played behind closed doors or just for season ticket holders next season. “There is a clear decrease in these incidents, signifying that the anti-violence laws have started to take real effect,” read a statement from the Government. “These are important figures that give an idea of what the next season will be, where the various organisations have pledged to keep a constant vigil.” The ban on unauthorised banners remains and will see club stewards given greater powers to watch and control the Ultras. “The contribution of the stewards can be brought to its full fruition from next season.” This meeting was attended by the FIGC President Giancarlo Abete and Lega Calcio chief Antonio Matarrese. “Today we have all won, above all good sense and civility”said Matarrese. However, the kick-off times of ‘at risk’ games will continue to be in the afternoon, as there is a greater likelihood of incidents in the evening matches. -- 唯有談到 JUVENTUS AZZURRI ,才用『我們』 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 124.8.148.184
