Former Chievo boss Giuseppe Pillon has been appointed as Reggina Coach
after the dismissal of Nevio Orlandi.
Orlandi was axed this morning after last weekend's 2-0 defeat
at home to Sampdoria left the Calabrians in penultimate place.
The Italian Press had expected Pillon to be handed the job
and that was confirmed just hours after Orlandi's departure.
“I am coming to an important club who have given me the chance
to work in Serie A,” Pillon told Reggina TV.”
“It is something that I have wanted so much since my experience
with Chievo.
“I want to make the most of my chance. I like the team I have seen
and I think they have the potential to do really well.
“I really believe in the objective of survival and I will try
and achieve it at all costs.”
After being axed by Chievo in 2007, Pillon took over hometown club Treviso,
but the 2007-08 campaign was a big disappointment and he was sacked in July.
