Luigi Simoni has added his voice to the clamour emanating from Italy
over national coach Marcello Lippi's insistence on ignoring Sampdoria
star Antonio Cassano.

The 70-year-old coach, who is currently working as the technical director
at Gubbio, added that the 27-year-old's nickname of 'Il Talentino' is
certainly warranted.

"The Sampdoria attacker is Italy's best player, I have always said so,"
Simoni told Neapolitan radio station Radio Kiss Kiss.

"Evidently there is something going on because I don't believe that Lippi
doesn't consider Cassano [to be] the best Italian talent since [Roberto]
Baggio. Who is stronger than him in Italy?"
(顯然的其中有些事情，我不相信Lippi沒有想過這個Baggio之後最棒的天才Cassano，
在義大利誰比他還強？)
"Technically he is beautiful, world class - to watch him play is an absolute
pleasure," he gushed.
(他有著世界級的美妙技術，看他踢球絕對是種享受)
Lippi clashed with Baggio when the two were together at Inter and if he
has a similar problem with Cassano, Simoni believes that it would be to
everyone's benefit if it was revealed.
(Lippi跟Baggio在國際米蘭的時候處的不好，若跟Cassano也是類似的問題，
說出來對大家比較好)
"I don't know why Lippi doesn't pick him. It would be better to know
because, doing it this way, Marcello is taking a lot of criticism,"
he concluded.
(我不知道Lippi為什麼不選他，在這件事上Lippi受到太多評論了)
