Cardinals phenom prospect Colby Rasmus is off to a cold start for Triple-A
Memphis, hitting .204/.299/.323 thus far. He has three homers, 13 walks, and
18 strikeouts in 93 at-bats. Is this something to worry about?
I don't think so.
He's hitting .269 against left-handers and .179 against right-handers: as a
lefty hitter, I don't think that will sustain, the performance against righties
will improve. He's still controlling the strike zone well, drawing lots of
walks with a non-horrible strikeout rate. He has a history of slow starts,
and I think that's all this is. As long as there isn't an underlying health
issue, Rasmus will be fine."
