He is LeBron James,and he will be a more dangerous player next season.
The marquee teammates of Larry Hughes and Donyell Marshall are known for
blowing up the stat sheet.LeBron James did not need much help in that
department last season,but now that he's running the court with these players,
the result is a more dangerous Chosen One.
Gilbert Arenas went from averaging 19.6 points in 03-04' to averaging 25.5 per
game last season as Hughes had his best season in the league.Brendan Heywood
surprised many with his play,and Antawn Jamison put himself back on the radar
screen as a player to be reckon with.Washington had their best season in 26
years because of players like Hughes.
An injury plagued Vince Carter averaged 22.5 points alongside Marshall in his
first season with the Raptors in 03-04'.Jalen Rose had his best scoring output
in three years playing with Marshall last season.Morris Peterson also revived
his career during that time period,while Chris Bosh emerged as a go-to-player.
The Raptors are in the running to be the worst team in the league next season
after losing Marshall,showing how valuable he was to their franchise.
What dose this mean for James and the Cavaliers?
A more potent line-up.A more potent James,who will easily contend for the
scoring title next season.This is because he will not facing the coumtless
double and triple teams which hampered his style last season.The outside
shooting of Marshall,matched with the incredible speed of Hughes,will open
the opposing defense up to the likes of which James has not seen.Without the
burden of scoring all the points during long stretches of action in the middle
of the game,It's tje virtual lock that James will record more than the four
triple-double he registered last season.He will also shoot above 50 percent
from the field next season,as the amount of forced shots he takes will
dwindle.
LBJ won't have to score 56 points,grab 18 rebounds,or dish out 15 assists in
order to give the Cavaliers a shot at winning on any given night.He'll be able
to do all of these things within the framework of the game,while naturally
bacoming a better defender as well.A running bet between he and Larry Hughes
on who wull lead the team in steals would be a great way to spark the defense
and start the fastbreaks this team will finish in spectacular fashion.
Highlight reels across the nation will be littered with streaking blurs of
Wine N' Gold.
Most importantly,James will be able to save his energy to a certain extent for
the fourth quartar,which is when the opposition will learn to fear the
Cavaliers.
