“I’m not satisfied,” Celtics coach Doc Rivers said last night
at TD Banknorth Garden, where the Celtics dropped a 106-103
decision to the New Jersey Nets in what amounted to
a clash of the titans in the NBA Pool D known as the Atlantic Division.
“We played extremely well, but I don’t give a crap if the other
team has better players. Playing well and not winning,
if I accept that, I’ve got to do something else.”

“I’ll take winning games all the time,” Rivers said.
“Playing well doesn’t make you feel good if you lose.
To win games, usually you have to play well.
There’s always something you can take from winning games.
“The bottom line is that winning is what we’re here to do.
And the only way (young players) will become what
we think they’ll become someday is to learn how to win.
That’s what we’re hoping to do.”
