How important is the fulfilling of the financial potential, because with the kind of resources that Roman Abromovich has brought in being mind blowing, it is not clear how important it will be for Chelsea to get out there in the market and make money. It’s very important. This is a business and in round terms you see what Mr A has invested in this club. I’m not giving away any trade secrets , the shares cost about £60 million, there was debt in the club of about £80 million. The papers report we put about £100 or £110 million into players, so you’ve got £200 or £250 million invested in this club. You look at a club like Manchester United, which if it was sold today could yield, I don’t know, £500m, £600m, £700 million, it depends on how the stock market is at any given day. So we look at that, and that’s the kind of thing we want to achieve. We want to be able to have a club that has that, or Chelsea Village plc that has that kind of a value. You can’t do that by selling another dozen replica shirts. You’ve got to have a whole new approach to marketing and brand recognition. In Peter Kenyon we have really found the guy that can take the marketing to the next level. That’s what we are really excited about. Peter with his background, you know he was chief executive at Umbro, his experience at Manchester United, I think he can really do in the marketing and branding area something that maybe has not been seen in sports this side of the Atlantic. For the regular supporter they are going to be saying “what about ticket prices”? Ticket prices is on the agenda right now because we have to come out with the new ticket prices in the next couple of weeks. The objective is to be fair to the ordinary fans, particularly fair to the concessions, OAPs , families, disabled, but we are going to come out with a ticket structure that we think is fair and appropriate in the circumstances. That will be revealed in the next week or two. As far as the summer is concerned, is there a budget? We don’t know; it was so wonderful and exciting what happened last summer but will it be a tight budget in terms of expenditure on the players? It’s hard for me to really answer that question but let me try. Let me first start by talking about the process. The process is that Mr A and Mr Ranieri and the directors and the chief executive of course consult on what is appropriate or what is necessary and what is desirable. A list is derived from that and sure there are financial limitations and I think when we get to the summer there will be a discussion on what is appropriate in terms of the money that is spent. But it is not unlimited. One of the problems we have, to be perfectly honest, is that every day in the paper we read a story that Mr A is going to be buying something else. You know like a football team in Argentina, an F1 team, every player that is looking to improve his contract with his current club says that Chelsea is after him. That makes it difficult for the directors and for the management to tell to people: “No that price is too high for your pencils,” or whatever. We just have to get an approach where people understand that this is a business; we are looking at our costs. Yes, we want to develop our football team, yes we want to put money into the football team but at the end of the day it is not unlimited by any sense. I’m not going to go into detail about individuals because that would be wrong whether it be players, managers anybody … I am a fan and since the summer, everyday you are reading the papers s aying Chelsea are interested in this player or that player or whatever and I’m pretty much attuned to what is going on and I’ve realised that 90 per cent to 95 per cent of the stories you read in the paper about who we’re interested in are untrue. So then we have a problem. Do we say: “No we are not interested in that player or this player”? Do we make public announcements? We’ve adopted the approach that we generally won’t deny that we are interested in a player, we won’t confirm that we are interested in a player. We have, I don’t know, violated that rule I think a couple of times when things have got a little egregious, like there were stories that we were already moving Joe Cole on. Our general approach is not to comment on these stories but we commented on that story simply because it was just so much over the top that we felt for the sake of the fellow we just had to say something. But by and large we don’t want to comment on transfers in, transfers out; who we’re interested in, who we’re not interested in. Let’s talk about the wider picture. Since the summer we’ve seen the World of Sport close. What is the ambition at that end of the site? We’ve also sold the travel business recently. We are not interested in ancillary businesses unless they are synergistic with the main objective and that is the football club and the brand. So that is why we sold the travel business. That is also why we have entered into an arrangement to move World of Sport over to one of the museums, the Science Museum. We want to make the hotels viable, they are viable, and the restaurants. They can be synergistic with what is gong on around here. I can’t think of any other, off hand, businesses that we are thinking about selling or closing. I assume you’ll ask me about the training ground and that is one of the big projects that we are looking at. But I think we are trying to focus on the football business and the brand and if other things we view as ancillary then we will consider doing something with them. Okay, training ground. We of course didn’t get into Sunbury, which we bought and then had to sell, we then bought Cobham at which point Roman Abramovich bought Chelsea and the whole thing has been reviewed. Where are we? We are in a bit of flux but the objective is to get a first class, better than first class, training facility. And one way or the other we are going to implement that, with top-notch indoor and outdoor facilities. We have got a couple of sites and a couple of projects in mind. We are trying to improve Harlington in the short-term but we will implement a top-notch training facility as soon as we can.
