Zola: No-one attacks Blues
Gianfranco Zola believes there is little "joy" derived from watching Chelsea
games because teams are unwilling to attack the champions.

The 39-year-old was a Stamford Bridge favourite for his invention and
sportsmanship but the current team, in contrast, have been denounced as boring
by their critics.
Under Jose Mourinho, the Blues are top of the league after seven games, with
success built on a defence which has only conceded one Premiership goal so
far.
"I think Chelsea players play lovely football but sometimes you do not get
much joy from watching their game because the other team is not playing how
they normally play," said Zola, who finished his playing career his year with
Cagliari in his native Italy.

"To get a really good game you have to have two (teams) playing, sometimes
teams are very compact and scared to play against Chelsea - so they sit back.

Zola, who played for Chelsea between 1996 and 2003, believes Mourinho can lead
his team to the Premiership and Champions League this season.
"Looking at the squad and the way they are playing, they have this ability,"
he added on BBC Radio Five Live. "It's really an impressive team and the more
I see them playing, it's very difficult to find a problem.

"They have a good chance, obviously to do this you need a bit of luck."

Mourinho's side are on course to reach the knock-out stages of the Champions
League after taking a point at Liverpool on Wednesday.
Liverpool knocked Chelsea out of the competition en route to the trophy last
season and the two teams meet again this weekend in the league, with Zola
believing Reds boss Rafael Benitez has found a successful formula.

"Liverpool are a team who sit back and wait for the opposition to attack them,
and Chelsea probably don't like that attitude," Zola added.

"Playing against Liverpool is not easy, as AC Milan will tell you from the
final, and other teams such as Juventus have found it difficult against them."
