http://www.chelseafc.com/article.asp?hlid=347839 Bring it on is Drogba's Christmas message Friday, Dec 23, 2005 Four games in eight days over the Christmas holiday period. It is not an average person's work load for this time of year. Didier Drogba, as an overseas player is less accustomed to it than his English team-mates but he welcomes the intensive fixture programme. “I enjoyed last year to play these games,” he declares. “It was a special atmosphere, all the family coming to the stadium. It is Christmas so I look forward to play the games. Physically it is difficult, but the manager has to deal with it.” With the first fixture a match between Chelsea's perfect Premiership home record this season and Fulham's inability to win away, Drogba agrees only one result would be acceptable from his team on Boxing Day. “No excuses. It is a difficult game, it is a derby, but we have to win because Man United is not so far behind. Chelsea are better than last year in terms of statistics,” he adds with good reason. The team has more points from less games going into Christmas than last season with a lead four points greater. “We have played very well since the beginning of the season, sometimes not as well as we wanted to but we are still winning, so it is very good to know that the team is improving from last year. In terms of experience, we know how to deal with difficult games now. We know how to control games. Even if we are losing, we know we can be back. This is important for us to have this feeling.” In a week in which Chelsea have been picked out ahead of other clubs by FIFA president Sepp Blatter for criticism on reliance on foreign players and big purchases, Drogba highlights the key role played by Englishmen John Terry, Frank Lampard and Joe Cole in Chelsea's success. “They are the spine of our team,” he insists. “Frank is one of the best players in the world, John is not so far behind. He is for me the best defender in the world. Maybe we spend a lot of money but this money is not spent for nothing. We won the League and Carling Cup last season, we went to the semi-final of the Champions League and this year we are top of the League. Sometimes you have to spend money for the good reason and this the good reason.” Chelsea's big centre-forward concludes his pre-Christmas thoughts by reflecting on a year that has seen him win the first honours of his career. “My life has changed. I was on the bench in the French second division and step-by-step I work and I know what I want to be. I have got big ambitions and I do everything to be here today. I am enjoying my life and this the three best years of my life.” by Paul Mason -- But you saved me! As difficult and as frustrating as it's been sometimes, your goddamn strict rationalism and science have saved me a thousand times over! You've kept me honest, made me a whole person. I owe you everything, Scully, and you owe me nothing. I don't know if I wanna do this alone... I don't even know if I can... and if I quit now, they win.
