The two former Blues stars were at the Cobham HQ to work on their touch and fitness ahead of playing for an international All-Stars XI on Tuesday evening. Jose Mourinho looked on as they joined current Chelsea players who had not played the full Liverpool game for a practice match. The opposition was Chelsea Reserves who had to cope with a forward partnership of Zola plus Eidur Gudjohnsen. Zola jetted in from Italy in time to watch the win against Liverpool. He sat alongside Roman Abramovich for the game. Poyet has travelled over from Uruguay and will join other former Chelsea favourites Mark Hughes, David Speedie, Kevin Hitchcock and Graeme Le Saux in a fundraising game at Macclesfield Town FC. It is a match that can be seen live on Chelsea TV. Zola is looking forward to recommencing his 1997 FA Cup winning strike partnership with Hughes.“I am very pleased to play alongside him again,” he says. “I said to him this time I am not going to run around for him as I did in the past! “I've kept training but I am afraid I am going to pull my hamstring after five minutes!” he joked. “But I will try to carry on. It is going to be a good match with an opportunity to see old friends and do something good for a team that needs help.” A host of other ex-Premiership stars will also join the line-up against a Macclesfield side to raise money to ease a crisis threatening the existence of the League Two club. Chelsea TV will begin live coverage from 7-30 pm with Kerry Dixon watching his old colleague David Speedie in action from the studio.
