Jose Mourinho had words of encouragement for Shaun Wright-Phillips
following his equaliser in Wednesday's pre-season game against Celtic and
revealed he had insisted the player stay for a second season at Chelsea.
小賴特不但追平比分，還獲得了老大的讚美。
Wright-Phillips started 15 games and came on in 24 others last campaign,
yet his first season at Chelsea was widely considered disappointing after
his starring role at Manchester City. One of the reasons was a total lack
of goals.
上賽季15場先發24場替補，但是一個進球也沒有 (其實助攻也少的可憐....)
The Celtic strike won't count against his name in the coming season's
statistics, but the shimmy and crisp low finish will have a beneficial
effect according to Mourinho.
雖然友誼賽的進球不算正式進球，但這記強勁的低平球或許能帶來好運。
“He is improving,” the manager said of the 24 year-old after the game.
“He understood the reasons why we wanted to keep him. Sometimes the first
season is not easy, especially when you don't have experience of the
highest level. He is not Ballack or Shevchenko, he is a young lad coming
from Man City with half-a-dozen caps and no experience in the Champions
League.
年輕人到強隊的第一年難免會不適應，但小賴特一直在進步。
“He needed what happened to him last season. Today was very positive and
the goal brings some happiness and confidence for him.”
這粒進球讓他非常開心，他重獲了自信。
Wright-Phillips' immediate importance to the squad has been elevated by
the departure of Damien Duff and injury to Joe Cole. He has started two
out of the three pre-season games. Mourinho declared the Celtic workout to
be the best overall squad performance yet.
達夫閃人小喬受傷後，小賴特上場機會增加了。老大也承認這本場比賽是目前最好的。
“In the circumstances I am pleased. What we did is not easy to do.
Because I have ten days of pre-season, if I did not have two games
together we cannot play enough games, and we need to play football. This
game was not an evolution in terms of sharpness because you are more tired
today than yesterday, but in terms of position on the pitch, occupation of
spaces, distances between players, it was an improvement on the Feyenoord
game.”
這很不容易，畢竟集訓時間很短，照理說今天應該更累，但球員的表現卻更上一層。
The original intention of playing back-to-back games was to give the
majority of players 90 minutes action, split into 45 minute segments each
day. Circumstances altered the plan.
本來連打兩天的目的是讓每個人都能打滿90分鐘，但計畫趕不上變化。
“We do not have that many players at the moment,” explained Mourinho.
“No Gallas, no Makelele, no Joe Cole, no Robert Huth, only one left back.
I was not in a position to play 45 minutes each player in each game.
Almost every player played almost two hours in two days. So in the
circumstances I'm very happy with the game against Celtic.”
人手不足，所以很多球員兩天內打了兩小時，對塞爾特人能有這種賽果已經很不錯了。
Wright-Phillips' equaliser on the stroke of half-time prompted the players
to celebrate by holding up a Chelsea shirt in front of the bench that
declared their love for fitness coach Rui Faria.
上半場小賴特進球後，大家拿了特製球衣送給帽哥，嗚嗚帽哥我們愛你～
“We have a difficult job in hand to prepare a team in one week. It was
nice from him,” said Mourinho of his young Portuguese coaching colleague.
“They love the kid. He is a fantastic person and a fantastic professional.
I am really happy with their attitude. The family is strong. It is getting
going.”
這一週內非常辛苦，大家都感謝帽哥的貢獻，這家庭實在太溫馨了。
