Mourinho and Cole tell transfer tales

On the day Jose Mourinho handed Ashley Cole the Chelsea No. 3 shirt and
introduced the player to the media, he admitted he feared the transfer
would never go through.
當柯爾穿上三號球衣的同時，莫里老大透露他曾經擔心柯爾來不了斯坦福橋。
Negotiations went on long into the evening on transfer deadline day before
the England left-back's move from London N7 to London SW6 was completed.
Just a short time beforehand Mourinho had been planning the campaign
without his newest player.
老大當然也做好沒有他加盟的準備，但轉會最終還是完成了。
“Yes I had doubts, I thought he wouldn't come,” the Chelsea manager
confirmed. “I was working with the club in the last days to try to find a
solution because we couldn't go a season with just one left-back and
without other people who could adapt. I was a bit scared about that when I
thought Ashley wouldn't join.
球隊不能只有一個左後衛，滿擔心柯爾不能加盟，因此一直在尋找解決方法。
“For me it was a surprise when in the last couple of days before the
deadline Peter Kenyon was informing me that there was a big possibility
that he would come. I was of course very, very happy.”
轉會截止前最後兩天，肯揚說柯爾有很大的機會加盟，這當然令人高興。
Something Mourinho never had any doubts over was that Cole's desire to
move to Stamford Bridge was strong.
柯爾轉來斯坦福橋的願望無庸置疑。
“When I read that he had had an offer from Real Madrid, I didn't need to
ask him why he wanted to come to Chelsea, because everything is clear.
皇馬也在競逐他，但不用問柯爾為什麼加入斯坦福橋，因為事情很明顯。
“When a player doesn't go to the club of the century, to the club with
the most important history in the world of football and he decides to
refuse that opportunity and come to Chelsea, I don't need to ask him why.
柯爾拒絕了那個歷史悠久又有光榮歲月的俱樂部，原因用不著問。
“It's because he has a feeling for the club and for the players. He
believes in us and he believes he can be happy here. He loves this country
and he loves the Premiership.”
因為他被卻爾西和球員吸引，因為他喜歡英超，因為他認為自己在這能得到快樂。
Cole gave his side of the transfer tale.
柯爾也談了這次轉會。
“I only found out that it was going through on the last day,” he
revealed. “About two in the afternoon, the manager called me and said the
deal is back on. I was happy that it could finally be sorted out.
轉會截止的前兩天下午，終於被通知可以轉會了。
“Before the World Cup I had a meeting with Arsene Wenger and I said that
I didn't think it would be easy for me to come back and play for Arsenal
after everything that had gone on. I said I would like to leave.
世界盃前柯爾跟溫格說自己不太可能再為阿森那踢球了，他想離開。
“But I just wanted to concentrate on the World Cup and I asked them to
find me a club I could go to. He was the one that mentioned Chelsea. I
didn't think I was ever going to come here at one stage. They sorted it
out and got an agreement with Chelsea.”
但是為了專注於世界盃，柯爾要阿森那幫他找俱樂部，於是終於來了卻爾西。
