Last day promotions, relegations and playoff spots were sealed, with mixed results for Chelsea players. Despite the winger not having played since March, Scott Sinclair's Birmingham City sealed promotion on Sunday with a 2-1 win at Reading. The 19-year-old made 14 appearances during his stay in the Midlands, eight of which were starts. Birmingham will join Wolverhampton Wanderers in next season's Premier League, Mick McCarthy's men finishing as Championship champions. Michael Mancienne played 10 times for Wolves between October and December, winning six and drawing three. Also promoted are Wycombe Wanderers, who will be in League One next season despite a final day defeat to Notts County. Lee Sawyer had scored a week earlier in the 1-1 draw at Port Vale, which all but confirmed Peter Taylor's side's promotion. That was 19-year-old Lee's only strike in nine appearances, but he also played 13 times for Southend (three goals) and twice for Coventry during 2008/09. Promotion could still be to come for Shaun Cummings, who has successfully spent the entire season with MK Dons, making 32 league appearances, usually at right-back with only injury preventing more. The Dons, under the management of Roberto Di Matteo and assisted by Eddie Newton, finished third in League One and will face Scunthorpe for a place in the Playoff Final. Leeds and Millwall contest the other semi-final. Carl Magnay also made two sub appearances for the Buckinghamshire club, while also starting once for Northampton before injury ended his season. With promotion comes relegation, and Ryan Bertrand has had that bitter taste to deal with this week, as his Norwich City side were demoted to League One on Sunday after defeat at bottom club Charlton. Bertrand, who has earned England Under 21 call-ups this season, was a shining light in the Canaries' poor season, appearing 38 times in the league, 37 starts in his left-back position. Also relegated from the Championship are Southampton, where Jack Cork spent the first half of the season, playing 25 times. He spent the second half of the season at Watford with former Chelsea reserve team manager Brendan Rodgers. At Vicarage Road, Cork made a further 19 appearances as they climbed the table from the relegation zone to a final placing of 13th. Arriving in January, Cork replaced Liam Bridcutt in the Watford midfield, the regular reserve team captain turning out nine times in Hornet yellow between November and January. In League One, Jimmy Smith's time at Leyton Orient ended with a mid-table finish, the midfielder scoring once in 16 appearances - that goal the winner in a 2-1 victory against Colchester in April. Fabio Ferreira made a solitary sub appearance for Oldham Athletic on March 24, a 1-1 draw with Cheltenham. Finally in England, Tom Taiwo made five appearances for Port Vale between August and September, four in League Two and one in the Football League Trophy. Having initially impressed in the Potteries, the midfielder returned to Chelsea after Vale changed manager. Overseas, Claudio Pizarro and Ben Sahar are still involved in competitive action. Pizarro is challenging for Uefa Cup honours with Werder Bremen, but at the semi-final stage finds himself 1-0 down after the first leg, against Hamburg. The Peruvian also has 16 in 23 Bundesliga games. Sahar meanwhile is in Holland fighting relegation with De Graafschap. He has scored five times in 15 games, including twice in a recent 2-2 draw with NEC Breda.
