It was a fine display as Carlo Ancelotti allowed Daniel Sturridge his full debut. Henrique Hilario returned, as did Paulo Ferreira, and Alex started in the centre of defence. 'It's always nice to play good football, there is a good confidence and everyone is involved,' said Kalou. Kalou scores a header It's onto the next round in the Carling Cup campaign, but unusually for football, it'll only be a two-day break before we face Bolton once again. After drawing the northern side at home in the cup competition, we'll now travel to the Reebok Stadium for our Barclays Premier League match on Saturday. 'It's a bit strange that we play them home and then away,' exclaimed Malouda, 'playing the same team a few days apart. 'But we have to play well and play them with the same respect. Even if we win 1-0 we will be happy. We are never sure about the score but we have to be confident after the home game. 'Now we are thinking about the league, we have lost the last game away and we have to comeback from that.' Despite considering the weekend's upcoming challenge, Malouda is also keen to express the club's desire when it comes to the Carling Cup. 'It is important for us, for the club, because it could be the first trophy of the season. We are doing well in the League and in the Champions League, but we would like to win this first trophy early in the season because of the confidence, it will be important.' Malouda scores against Bolton 'We have more confidence with the way we are playing now,' explained Malouda. 'We are trying to keep the ball to play our game and all the players are fitting into this system. 'The most important thing is the runs you do and you must have confidence in the other players, that's what helps us get the result.' The new system has seen Kalou move inside from the wing, where he can ply his trade in the more traditional two-up-front scenario. 'Ancelotti has a lot of experience from Milan that he's brought to Chelsea,' noted Kalou. 'It is very important to have this kind of manager because he knows what he is talking about, he knows how to play and after the players have adapted to the situation everyone is doing great. 'As a striker I always love to play up front. I have been playing as a winger the last couple of seasons and this season I have the opportunity to be up front. 'It is a good formation and I can cope very well with Didier [Drogba] and [Nicolas] Anelka, so it is a good opportunity for me to show another side of my game.' --
